The Fundació IRIS-CC and Consultori Bayés have awarded the Consultori Bayés Grant 2022 to Anna Escalé, which consists of 5,000 euros for the completion of the doctoral thesis. The awarded project is titled “Use of artificial intelligence as a diagnostic support tool for skin lesions in primary care in Catalonia”, and is supervised by Josep Vidal.
The jury awarded two exceptional secondary awards of 500 euros each: the first to Laia Cases with the project “Description of the impact of COVID-19 in the residential area of Catalonia through the analysis of massive data”, supervised by Jordi Amblàs, and the second to Dolors García with the project “3D/3D+ tool for the challenge of clinical complexity in the emergency services. Multidimensional approach to the elderly patient in the emergency department”, supervised by Joan Espaulella and Anna Arnau.
The award ceremony took place on the 30th of September during the day of Sant Cosme and San Damià in the Column Room of Vic City Council. The President of the Board of Trustees of the Fundació IRIS-CC, the Rector of the UVic-UCC, Mr. Josep Eladi Baños, was in charge of awarding the grants.
Created in 2000, the aim of the Consultori Bayés Grant is to promote the research career of professionals from Osona, Garrotxa, Ripollés, Bages and Berguedà in the field of life and leaht sciences within the framework of a doctoral programme at UVic-UCC. In this edition, the call received sixteen applications.
